    Old France Map - Basses-Pyrenees Department - Migeon 1869 - This is an exquisite full-color Reproduction printed on high-quality gloss paper, art paper or canvas.
    The following towns are featured: Colored with vignettes of local scenes, coats of arms, personages, animals, people, and crops. The map was authored by A Vuillemin and J Migeon and engraved by Ales and Isidore in 1869, Paris. Basses-Pyrenees, now knows as Pyrenees-Atlantiques, is a department in Aquitaine, southwest of France. It takes its name from the Pyrenees mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It covers the French Basque Country and the Bearn, and is one of the original 83 departments of France created during the French Revolution, on 4 March 1790. It was created from the former province of Bearn (Basse-Navarre and Bearn proper) as well as parts of the province of Guyenne and Gascony (Labourd, Soule, and Bayonne).
