    Old Great Britain Map - England, Scotland, Wales - Ortelius 1570 - This is an exquisite full-color Reproduction printed on high-quality gloss paper, art paper or canvas.

    Sites and Townships Specific To This Map Are: London, Dublin, Windsor, Brydre, Dantre, Hampton, Canby, Upton, Hundel, Hycherle, canan, Loger, Oldcast, Stathern, and others.

    The following towns are featured: a decorative map of the ancient British Isles with north orientated to the east. It is based on Mercator's 1564 map, and improved by Saxton's 1579 with writings of the ancient classical writers. Seven ships and three decorative strap work cartouches embellish the map. Seas were obviously done in the Ortelius style of swirling patterns. Place names include those of Londen, Dublyn, and more. The first occurrence of this map in the Theatrum in 1570 and was replaced by a later map in 1606.
