    Old Italy Map - Livorno Region - Blaeu 1640 - This is an exquisite full-color Reproduction printed on high-quality gloss paper, art paper or canvas.
    The following towns are featured: the region of Lazio, Campania, and Molise centered on Ischia, Naples, and Gaeta. It was published in the Atlas Major. The Atlas Major is the result of the immense work of Blaeu and is unanimously recognized as one of the finest moments in the history of cartography. The approximately 600 maps that compose it are all engraved with stretch refined and embellished by beautiful scrolls, heraldic and especially from the magnificent calligraphy. The work of Blaeu was interrupted in 1672 when the Great Fire of Amsterdam destroyed the workshop and most of the plates . The following year Johannis died and the remaining plates were scattered and purchased by rival Frederick De Wit , Schenk and Valk. The publishing house finally closed in 1695.
